BB15 Spencer Fired From Union Pacific?

BB15 Spencer Fired From Union Pacific

Starpulse is reporting that BB15's Spencer WILL be fired from Union Pacific Railroad after making derogatory remarks while in the Big Brother house. If true, he will be the third BB15 houseguest to lose their job in the past week.

UPRR released the following statement about Spencer yesterday:

"The values represented by Spencer Clawson's comments during the Big Brother show do not at all align with Union Pacific's values. Mr. Clawson is on unpaid leave of absence while participating on Big Brother. Union Pacific does not condone his comments.
Union Pacific is acting in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreement terms regarding Mr. Clawson."

We hear they are now "in the process of" terminating him, but I haven't seen absolute confirmation of this from Union Pacific.

What are your thoughts about the Big Brother 15 houseguests being fired from their jobs? Is it going too far? Is it to be expected? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this sensitive subject.

It's not going to matter. He's in a union. The union will fight tooth & nail for him and will probably get him reinstated. I've seen it happen all the time.

    1. Unfortunately its the unions job to fight tooth and nail for him.

  2. I think they only thing than can really get him on are his claims of drug use. The union can protect him from a lot, but that is a matter of safety and probably the one thing they can't protect him from. Especially since from what he said, they prob did once before when he was sent to rehab.

  3. In Spencer's case he works in a union job and so it's more tricky to terminate him. In the case of Aaryn and GM their jobs are based on per contract any conduct that looks bad on the company is enough cause for termination of the contract. Spencer would likely work under a collective bargaining agreement as per CBA guidelines he's probably entitled to a warning and a 24 hour suspension prior to termination. Also. Because it's CBA and because he wasn't on work time or work property they probably won't have grounds to terminate him.

That being said I think it's more than fair. The house guests knew what they were signing up for and knew that their employers would be privy to any and all conversations inside the house. They also signed a contract that has the words: CBS is not responsible or liable for any discipline or conditions being set by your employers as a result of the show. So if they didn't understand that they're morons.

Hey. If they can be privy to rewards from air time on the show and the notoriety that comes with it they should also be willing to take ownership of the negatives and downsides from their actions on the show. Including losing their jobs due to comments made.

    1. I should read more thoroughly haha. Just noticed you posted UPAC's statement. He is under a CBA so there you have it.

    2. Thank Trianglereverie, I appreciate YOU explaining how the union usually works. This is the most uncomfortable season and I have been fan since day 1. I hurt for Howard and Candace, esp. Howard being a young black man that has to hurt back...

    3. Why is Candace not being fired, discriminated against, nor at the very least called out by the masses for saying; "White-asses" in regards to the white contestants on the show?

WHY? Because we live on a one way street, one prejudice remark by a white person and "BOOM" the word racist comes out. Let a person of African-American, or most any other minority, make a prejudice remark and "Poof" like magic nothing was done that was racist.

It is time to face it, politically correct only applies to those people who are cast as the white race.

    4. How is "white asses" a racist comment. They are white and so are their asses. White people refer to their own asses as white as in, "you can kiss my white ass." So not racist.

    5. White ass is so not racist. I've heard white people refer to their own address as being white. How is an adjective of color racist? Lmao

    6. So black people say nigger or black so thats not racist??? Ms bridget... is that what you are saying

    7. Ya I'm not offended by "white ass" cause it is...? But I am offended by the "N" word. No matter WHO uses it!! And I'm tired of the argument black people use to defend continuing to use it. As a child, "stunned cunt" was used to degrade and dehumanize me by my father. So does that mean I get to go around calling people cunts and get away with it? Rude is rude. No passes for anyone!!

    8. Whoa you can only bring up one phrase "white ass" that seems to most of these commenters to be a joke putting it into the same category as what the other two said and did? OMG you might have got some validation - dont know why, but maybe - if you had acknowledged you agreed the others should be fired. Do you? And the "white ass" call out was AFTER she had been attacked and made fun of in very racial ways. They were absolutely showing their "whiteness" cuz what other race would say those things and they very much were being an "ass" for their behaviour.

They'd have to do a drug test on him to catch him on it. There could even be stipulations in the union contract that states they can't randomly drug test.

And you're right about the rehab thing...if he tested positive for drugs.

  5. The last time someone was fired for "offensive" language he ended up winning the game and donating $100K to the company that fired him! Remember A-baller? He called the children he worked with 'retards,' got fired, won the game, and before anyone told him he had been fired, he pledged $100K to his kids. People on the show, especially some of the women, were incensed by his "insensitivity" but in the end he showed he had a big heart. Sometimes people read too much into another person's language and don't see beyond their own prejudices. If there is anything to be upset about this year, it is the wholesale destruction of the game so that the power to evict rests with the LOSERS! The game...has become a joke.

    1. That...has got to be the stupidest shit I've ever heard. I hardly doubt that Aaryn, GinaMarie or Spencer have got a "big heart". I hardly doubt that they'll donate a portion of their winnings to anti-discrimination or really anything charitable of the sort. Probably a backyard pool. Maybe a Lambo.

    2. Also "A-baller" is in prison for using his BB winnings to purchase drugs intended to sell so I wouldn't use him as the best example of one with a " big heart"

    3. Adam did not donate any portion of his winnings. He used all his winnings on Chrystal meth (with the intent to sale) and him and Matt have been in federal prison for years. I don't remember the website for Matt's blog from inside jail, but it's worth googleing

  6. The stupidest shit is some dumbass saying, "I hardly doubt" when he actually means "I doubt." They're not the same, bonehead!

  7. Why does Big Brother not fire these idiots. Have they no desire to make corrections to their scheduled season? What a bunch of pure unadulterated Bullshit. I blame them for no action.
Most union contracts include language about bargaining unit members actions that reflect upon the companies reputation or views. Spencer along with the two women belong in the street not on our TVs. Before anyone suggests I "turn the dial", I choose not to, so?

  8. I work for Union Pacific and the key to their statement is that he's on an unpaid leave of absence. Had he been on a paid leave of absence they could terminate him for the comments. It would then go before an arbitrator who would make the final decision. As far as the drug comments go unless he is tested and pees hot there is nothing they can do, but I'm certain he will be randomly tested quite often.

  9. In my opinon, all these firings being announced while they are in the BB house, we all know but they don't is very unprofessional. They want to terminate them because of their actions on the show, they should not me announcing it before they know about it.

  10. I'm curious to know how many people from past seasons have had this happen to them? With the exception of the racist remarks, I don't think that the house guests were anymore rude, jealous, hateful, disturbing, etc than any other season. There might have been a few more of them, but there are MANY past BB guests who are just plain nasty people.

    1. Really! Are you that stupid. "With the exception of the racist remarks" The racial remarks and actions are EVERYTHING in this controversy. However innocent, said in anger or jest if not held accountable bigotry just goes on and on. You don't have to make someone a slave, not let them eat where you do or go the same school your children do to be labeled a racist. If the first thing your mind thinks of is to belittle someone when you are angry and quote negative sterotypes to hurt them or you laugh at jokes thta promote the same - then you are a racist. Saying I didnt mean anything by it or I was just angry is not a reson or an excuse.
